No fucking WAYYYYYY YOUTUBE CHANGED THEIR TOS TO AVOID PUNISHING SSSNIPERWOLF FOR DOXXING

sergle

A YOUTUBER doxxes ANOTHER YOUTUBER over criticizing their YOUTUBE content on YOUTUBE and because the doxxing was performed on Instagram, not ON youtube, it's "OUTSIDE THEIR JURISDICTION"
Is her getting minors to twerk for her or show their tits to her on omegle inside their jurisdiction? Or is that part of the TOS also going to be reworded

sergle

Oh and they are literally Poking Fun about the issue on their main account. slaaaay

I can’t express enough that sssniperwolf makes YouTube fucktons of money and without significant pushback from the YouTube community, YouTube will not fucking care about her committing a crime.

And I need to be clear:

Jacksfilms or Jack Douglass, is an old school YouTuber who’s been on the site for over a decade. You might know him from his “Your Grammar Sucks” series, or for his original songs, or for “Yesterday, I Asked You.” He is well established as a comedian. He has 5mil subs on YouTube, most of which he has gained steadily over his career on the platform.

Sssniperwolf does React content, and while most react channels will make an effort to credit original videos and creators or complication makers, or to add more helpful commentary [such as sneegsnag on twitch who has a criminology degree and reacts to police interviews to give extra context], Ssniperwolf does neither of these things. She has 34 million subscribers, and 5mil followers on Instagram.

Jacksfilms attracted Sssniperwolf’s ire because he, as a comedian, noticed this fact and decided to start a new channel, called Jjjacksfilms, where he reacts to her react content and tries to find the sources for the videos she reacts to in order to credit them. Jack has a harsh sense of humor, but this channel is not harassment by any stretch of the legal meaning. Jack is well known for being a pretty fair critic, and either way - the videos are public. What he did, while annoying for her, is not illegal.

Sssniperwolf, a 30y/o woman with a successful career, reacted by filming the front door of Jacksfilms personal residence, at night, and posting that footage to Instagram with the caption “let’s talk like adults”, whilst Jack, his wife, and their three dogs were inside. This act caused “jacksfilms home address” to be the second search result when you google his username. She eventually deleted the post after Jacksfilms rightfully informed his community that he had been doxxed, and asked YouTube to deplatform or ban her for committing a crime against him. She has since shown zero remorse for endangering the lives of Jack and his wife and dogs, and claims that it is defamation (it’s legally not) for Jack to claim she doxxed him (legally she did). She has also made jokes about it. YouTube has seemingly sided with her.

as FunkyFrogBait also said in their very good video on the matter, "without significant pushback from the YouTube community, YouTube will not fucking care about her committing a crime." is VERY important

They also go over this, but don't forget this. YouTube expects people to forget about it in a week, and people probably will, but YouTube has in the past done something if public outcry is massive.

it has to be massive.

Not only don't let Alia forget this, but don't let YouTube forget this. Don't let them forget they're making millions by platforming a criminal who, might I add, did in fact make children twerk for her on omegle and told them she's reward them by exposing herself. Only recently was this video taken down.

Rn twitter users probably have the most power when it comes to outcry, but if you happen to have one and feel like it, don't let them forget. If they forget the horrible system YouTube has built where people can get away with anything if they just make them enough money still stands.

I feel it is necessary to add more recent context, particularly YouTube's official stance and Sssniperwolf's behavior during this controversy.

First of all: YouTube is taking both sides

image

The demonetization is good, sure, just that is a minor slap on the wrist considering Sssniperwolf broke ToS, and people have been banned forever off the platform for doing less. This is even more painful because the demonetization is only affecting recent videos, this isn't hurting her in the slightest. And that isn't even mentioning the fact that they shift the blame on to Jacksfilms for criticism. That's dangerous, this sets a precedent that is incredibly concerning. When it comes to this situation, YouTube is saying that criticism and doxxing is on the same level, that's horrible.

And then there's Sssniperwolf's response.

image

This is not genuine. This is painfully not genuine. This is the most corporate, AI-leaning, and emotionless apology I've ever seen, she didn't even spell his name right. She made sure to post this at the exact time YouTube made their response, and on her social platform with the least amount of followers.

Her other responses range from saying Jacksfilms is a person who relies on creating fake drama to stay relevant, which is just... wow. To downright making fun of the situation as if it wasn't a big deal. This is undeniably ridiculous and immature.

Do not let this die, do not let her move on, this isn't something we can just ignore.

When Izzy first walked out I was worried that he would be made into a joke that the crew would laugh at

image

but then he started singing and the dancing began and I realized that he wasn’t meant to be a joke at all. This is the most open and happy we’ve ever seen Izzy and the show treated it that way. Not mocking him but instead celebrating this moment.

When we talk about queer representation it’s usually just focused on queer relationships, but what I love about this episode is it shows other sides of being queer. That moment where Izzy saw Wee John doing his makeup and had a realization that he wanted that too? That is what being queer means to me. The crew singing along and cheering for him? That is what being apart of the queer community means to me.

What i love about this show is that it shows queer joy, not in a sanitized way, but in away that is messy, beautiful, and without any mockery or shame.

The text is in Finnish but something like: “Post in Finnish because I use this language so rarely online, even though I feel half more intelligent than when twisting English, haha.
